These fizzy chocolate protein balls are literally the one! They beat a chocolate bar in so many ways and keep you naturally full and energised. Dates, mixed nuts, coconut oil and nut butter all mixed up makes a scrummy snack.
When it comes to making energy protein bites you’ll want a..
- Thick binder, e.g. dates, prunes
- Energising protein nuts & seeds, e.g raw pistachio, peanuts, hemp seeds & almonds⠀
- Fatty type oil to help the bites become firm, e.g. coconut oil⠀
- Healthy fat nut butter, e.g. peanut, almond, cashew, mixed nut butter
- Additional extra if you want superfood benefits e.g baobab powder, spirulina & chorella.
You’ll need a food processor to whizz it all up and a freezer to store them in. You can’t really go wrong with the amounts of ingredient you put in, as long as you get a sticky mixture which lets you roll into shapes.
If it all goes wrong you can spread the mixture into a flat pan, score the mixture into bar shapes, place in the freezer and pull one out when you need one!
TIP: It helps to wet your hands before you roll the bite shapes!
This is a great recipe to batch make as you can store them in the freezer for up to 3 months, and defrost ready to eat in a few minutes!

Process all the ingredients, except the baobab, in a food processor until the mixture fully sticks together.⠀
Split mixture into 6 and roll into balls. Wet your hands first for easier rolling.
If you want to add fizzyness, wet the rolled balls with a little water and roll in superfood baobab powder and fully cover.⠀
Place in the freezer to harden for about 15 minutes and then enjoy!
NOTES
These keep fresh in the fridge for up to a week or freeze really well too!
