All my favourite flavours brought into one tasty prebiotic dessert…maple baked apples! Apples, raisins, cinnamon and walnuts baked with cinnamon, maple and vanilla. MmMmmm!
Prebiotics don’t have to be complicated…even just half an apple will help to support the prebiotic effects on your body and promote good gut bacteria in your tummy.
Mix them in with some healthy coconut fat, chewy raisins and protein filled nuts and you’ve got yourself a healthy and balanced sweet treat!
I’ve used walnuts and pecans in this recipe as I’ve been craving food for my brain recently. Studies show these two nuts are some of the best! Notice how their shapes resemble the shape of a brain too!? Some others high protein nuts to consider as well are pistachios, blanched almonds and peanuts.
Desserts usually come with a ‘that’s going to be naughty for me’ feeling. This one you don’t have to feel guilty about at all! Only health promoting goodness goes into this recipe and I can’t wait for you to try it!
These maple baked apples go great on top of Cinnamon Rhubarb Crumble.
